The government has an ambitious plan to ensure every primary school in England provides a free breakfast club – and your school could be part of it!
Initially, there will be an ‘early adopter’ programme. This will provide valuable insight into what works prior to the rollout.
What's happening?
The Department for Education (DfE) is launching an ‘early adopter’ programme, and up to 750 state-funded primary schools in England will have the chance to participate. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of breakfast clubs, before the full nationwide rollout. Schools that take part will provide valuable insights into delivering a successful breakfast club, to ensure it:
- Compliments what is already happening in schools
- Supports the childcare needs of busy working families
- Helps children to start their day feeling energised and ready to learn
Be among the first!
Schools are invited to take part. Selected schools will be notified in early 2025, with the programme officially kicking off in the summer term (April 2025).
